Hey folks! well – I’m setting up my new novel and getting it begun: the 4th in the “Effectuators” series. Rip-roaring Victorian paranormal adventures, starring the incomparable Brilliana Stetham and her friends.
This novel sees the Effectuators team rampaging about Austria, plunging into the catacombs of Paris, and flitting home to defend the Queen from her demonic enemies. These books are really a joy to write.
I am now working on laying out the Travellers and the Effectuators novels for Print on demand via LULU.
Apart from that: Avidly reading the new TRAVELLER RPG books by Mongoose games. They have done an excellent job with their core rules and careers books. The Spinward Marches campaign and the ‘Spinward Encounters’ books are absolutely superb.
Tabletop games wise: Check out “Grande Armee” written by Sam Mustafa, published by Scale Creep Miniatures. A superb ‘high view’ games system allowing large battles to be easily fought. The ‘people management’ rules are truly excellent. Innovative, clear and clever. There is a really great feel to this game – best Napoleonic rules I’ve seen in many many years, and absolutely the best ones to try tackling full ‘grand army’ sized games. You might try combining them with the systems outlined in “Le Vol de L’Aigle” by Pratzen Editions to create a campaign.
